Waterline installation, sewer connections, and underground utility work done properly. The infrastructure your property depends on, installed right the first time.
The Service
Water and sewer connections are the kind of work that has to be done correctly the first time. Improper installation leads to ground settlement, pipe failure, sewage backup, and costly emergency repairs — often years down the road when the problem is hardest to trace.
KD Excavating installs new water service connections, replaces failing lines, installs sewer laterals, and performs all associated excavation and backfill. We work in coordination with the City of Ottawa and relevant utilities to ensure connections are inspected, approved, and done to code.
Our Process
Locate & Plan
Existing utilities are located through Ontario One Call before any digging begins. We plan the trench route to avoid conflicts.
Permit & Coordination
Required permits are pulled with the City of Ottawa and utility connections are coordinated with the appropriate departments.
Trenching & Installation
Trenches are excavated to proper depth and bedded correctly. Pipe is installed with the right grade, fittings, and connections.
Inspection & Backfill
Work is inspected before backfilling. Trench is compacted in lifts to prevent future settlement of driveways, walkways, or turf.
FAQ
How do I know if I need a new water service?
Signs include low water pressure, discoloured water, unexplained high water bills, or wet spots in your yard. Older lead or galvanized lines often need full replacement.
Do you repair as well as install?
Yes — we handle emergency repairs on broken or leaking water and sewer lines as well as full new installations and replacements.
How long is the work area disrupted?
Most residential water or sewer line projects are completed in 1–2 days. We minimize disruption to driveways and landscaping and restore the surface before we leave.
