Land
Clearing

Tree removal, stump grinding, brush clearing, and full site prep for new builds. We turn raw land into a ready-to-build lot — efficiently and without damaging what stays.

The Service

From Overgrown
to Build-Ready

Land clearing is the first and most critical step for any new construction, expansion, or development project. Done wrong — trees left too close to excavation zones, stumps and roots left underground, debris improperly disposed of — it creates problems throughout every phase that follows.

KD Excavating handles complete land clearing for residential lots, rural properties, and commercial development sites. We remove trees, grind stumps below grade, clear brush and debris, and leave the site graded and ready for whatever comes next.

Our Process

How It Works

01

Site Walk & Plan

We walk the property with you, identify what stays and what goes, confirm boundaries, and check for underground utilities before any equipment touches the ground.

02

Tree & Brush Removal

Trees are felled, limbed, and removed. Brush, shrubs, and debris are cleared using skid steers and mulchers.

03

Stump Grinding

Stumps are ground below grade so they don't interfere with grading, foundation work, or underground utilities later.

04

Grade & Clean Up

The site is rough-graded, debris hauled away, and left ready for excavation, construction, or whatever your next phase requires.

FAQ

Frequently Asked

Do I need a permit to clear trees in Ottawa?

Some trees in Ottawa are protected under the Urban Tree Conservation By-Law. We review requirements with you before any removal and advise on what needs approval.

What happens to the cleared trees and debris?

All debris is removed from site. Logs can be left for firewood if requested, or hauled away. Brush and stumps are always removed entirely.

Can you clear around existing structures?

Yes — selective clearing around buildings, fences, and landscaping is a regular part of our work. We're precise about what goes and what stays.
